L'Oissaeu D'isles: The last tall ship launched in 1935 by the famous shipyard Dubigeon Nantes, she sailed cargo runs in French Polynesia before and after the war until the mid 1950's. Built to an estimated amount of 2265000 francs at that time, she was launched on June 17th, 1935 To Chantenay.

She was delivered to it's owner on July 20th and after sea trials, which were often carried out in bad weather, she departed Saint-Nazaire on November 22nd for Papeete, via the Panama Canal. Under the command of Captain Ernest Dequidt, she reached Papeete on January 25th, 1936, after establishing a record speed off Cape Finisterre: 14 knots for 8 consecutive hours!

Tall masted sailing ships became obsolete as cargo ships,  Pacific Rider  as she was then named, was fortunate NOT to be destroyed.
