BVISO- Flying Cloud

flying cloud memories - 1975

It is very interesting to see the possible plans for the "Frying Crowd", as I was told it was called.

You may or may not know that the Cloud was almost a diving site almost 35 years ago. As a child, I was on the Cloud when she first tried to become part of the reef off of Valley in December of 1975. By a strange coincidence, I was telling my daughters about the "shipwreck", and my daughter Lauren had the idea to see if there was any information about the wreck on the internet. Sadly, I discovered the sad news regarding Windjammer in general, and more specifically, the Flying Cloud.

If you decide, as I see has been suggested, to sell parts to help fund the effort to bring her back, please email me. Back when she slammed into the reef, the harbor master at the time jokingly said that since she was not expected to survive the wreck, he would sell items, such as our cabin door (a deck cabin, for some reason I think it was actually #4). It seems ironic that 35 years later, it seems that this might this might be happening. Submitted by Marc Linsey
