Bert Kilbride opened the first dive operation on Virgin Gorda in 1961. In 1992, at the young age of 76, Bert sold his operation to his manager, Mike Van Blaricum, and the current era of diving with Sunchaser Scuba in Virgin Gorda had begun. Mike had been running dive charters out of Florida for 15 years and came to the BVI to "escape the cold" and the rest is history. Located at the Bitter End Yacht Club, Sunchaser Scuba offers recreational diving for the entire family.
It all starts on the 40' Sunchaser for daily scheduled dives with comfort and speed for divers, snorkelers and friends. The 38' Miss Lavelle is available for private charters to any dive site in the BVI. She is fast, smooth and can take you and your friends on scuba, snorkeling or site seeing charters. Mike had both boats custom made strictly for scuba diving and they exceed all US Coast Guard specifications.

All of our dive gear is new and state of the art, so you don't have to worry about the hassle of traveling to Virgin Gorda with any excess baggage. Our PADI & NAUI instructor-dive guides, will be more than happy to set up your gear on board and help you in and out of the water. At the end of your diving day, your gear will be safely locked up in our storage area, so you don't have to carry any gear back and forth to your room or yacht.
We offer many different certification courses for the novice or seasoned diver as well as "resort courses" should one of your traveling companions want to try scuba diving for the first time.
